We strive to serve our community well and connect to and honour this land and its people. This land is the land of the Hul'qumi'num speaking people, specifically the Cowichan Tribes. We acknowledge the history of colonialism and its detrimental effects. For too long, settlers have forgotten, mistreated and marginalized Indigenous peoples. 
We cannot undo the past, so starting where we are today, we must move forward in a good way, furthering right relations. We are responsible for educating ourselves and taking whatever action we can to fix the wrongs of the past, treading with love and respect on this land.
