Healing Support for Common Conditions

When our bodies or minds are unwell, overworked, or tired, our Qi can fall out of harmony. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi is the vital life force that flows through us, nourishing body, mind, and spirit. Though it cannot be seen, it can be felt in our energy, our mood, and our overall sense of well-being. At Harmonizing Qi, we help restore this essential balance, easing discomfort and guiding you toward renewed health and wellness.

Below are just some of the more common conditions we treat, viewing body, mind, and spirit as a whole, often customizing multiple services and disciplines to meet our clients’ healing where they are at on their journey toward health and wellness.

Pain Management

Massage Therapy promotes blood circulation and tissue regeneration to reduce muscle and tissue pain.

Acupuncture releases endorphins and stimulates tissue regeneration, and interrupts chronic pain signals. Scalp and motor point acupuncture are often helpful for back pain, joint pain and to recover from injury.

Emotional Health

Yin and Yang are both needed for emotional regulation. Heart integration of these forces creates a dynamic, conscientious person who is able to withstand the stresses and pressures of everyday life. Yin brings the forces of self compassion, deep nurturing and Yang compassion, and Yang motivates and protects us from compounding our suffering with harmful habits or inappropriate and dangerous interactions.

Metabolic Health & Weight Loss

Traditional Chinese Medicine advocates for a healthy lifestyle rich in nutrients and meals at regular intervals. When our metabolism becomes dysregulated, a variety of symptoms arise and Chinese Herbal Medicine works to improve the function of organs and hormones that control water metabolism, appetite regulation, stress response and irregular bowels.

Fertility

This is a broad treatment principle. It means that when regulated, the Qi & Blood in the menses will flow freely and the woman will be fertile. Adjustments are tailored to treat your individual presentation and all phases of the cycle, which are: menstruation, follicular, ovulation and luteal.

Pregnancy

Acupuncture is an effective and drug-free way to manage many issues that can arise during pregnancy. Thanks to the Qi pathways, no points on the abdomen are used and points on the legs, arms and back are appropriate.

Harmonizing Services

  • Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points along energetic pathways using hair-thin needles. This stimulation promotes the free flow of the body’s vital life energy, Qi, which releases blockages that are precursors to pain and disease.

  • Chinese Herbal Medicine

CCM has its roots in Taoism and Yin and Yang and observations of the elements of nature. Everything in nature interacts with or enters the body internally. Disease begins when these elements are in disharmony, creating a blockage and preventing the free flow of Qi/health.

  • Cupping, Gua Sha & Tui Na

Using a combination of glass suction cups, smooth scraping tools, and massage to encourage Qi and blood circulation, decrease inflammation to stop pain.

  • Registered Massage Therapy

The hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body to relieve stress, release restrictions causing musculoskeletal pain and facilitate betterment and wellbeing.

  • Reflexology

A micro-system providing a deeply relaxing massage for the lower legs and feet. Pressure points are stimulated according to various maps of the body, including nerve pathways, lymph flow, Chinese meridians, and Egyptian and Thai reflex points.

  • Relaxation Massage

Relaxation massage is a synthesis of the bodywork techniques Amanda has gathered from travelling South East Asia.
